The Linzer showing is located west of the Adam River, approximately 12 kilometres southeast of the community of Sayward.

The area to the west of the Adam River is mainly underlain mainly by the upper part of the Triassic Karmutsen Formation, comprising mainly thick massive flows with local intercalations of amygdaloidal basalt and pods of autoclastic breccias, pillowed and massive flows with thin intercalations of volcaniclastic and limy sandstones, all cut by thin dolerite/gabbro sills.

Locally, three (Upper, Mid and Lower) areas of small, several centimetre wide, bornite-chalcopyrite veins and breccias are hosted in potassic altered basalts over a length of 150 metres. In 2006, sampling yielded up to 21.28 per cent copper and 49.1 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 28747).

In 2010, sampling of the zones returned yielded up to 12.55 per cent copper and 42 grams per tonne silver from the Upper Linzer zone, 5.757 per cent copper and 15 grams per tonne silver from the Mid Linzer zone and 4.29 per cent copper with 12 grams per tonne silver from the Lower Linzer zone (Assessment Report 31856).

In 2011, sampling of the Upper Linzer veins yielded values greater than 25.0 per cent copper (Assessment Report 32553). In 2013, two samples (1415710 and 1415711) from the Upper Linzer zone yielded greater than 1.00 per cent copper with 0.436 and 0.378 gram per tonne gold, respectively (Assessment Report 34183).

In 2018, a sample (R13) from a 0.5-metre-wide massive chalcopyrite-pyrite vein in basalt assayed 0.186 per cent molybdenum and 0.174 per cent copper, while three other grab samples (R-18 to R-20) yielded from 2.32 to 4.96 per cent copper and 4.6 to 11.8 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 38134; MacIntyre, D. (2018-07-18): Technical Report - Red Metal Ridge Mineral Property).

Approximately 250 metres to the northeast of the Linzer occurrence, malachite-stained basalts host copper values. In 2006, two samples yielded 4.9 and 3.2 per cent copper with 6.5 grams per tonne silver each, respectively (Assessment Report 28747).

Approximately 700 metres northeast of the Linzer occurrence chalcopyrite and malachite are hosted in vertical fractures within a fine-grained basalt. In 1991, a rock sample (AR91-JR3) assayed 0.223 per cent copper (Assessment Report 22409).

Work History

In 1991, West Pride Industries completed a program of geological mapping, rock, silt and soil sampling and sampling of previous drillcores on the area as the Boyes 1-5 claims, Adam River property. During 2006 through 2013, M. Schau completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling on the area as the Kringle claims. In 2018, Crest Resources Inc. completed a program of prospecting, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, trenching and a 24.0 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area as the Red Metal Ridge property. In 2020, Altum Resource Corp. completed a program of prospecting and geochemical (rock and soil) sampling on the surrounding area as the Adam West property.
